- Muscular & Ligament Injuries
- Osteoarthritis
Treatments
We combine this with a range of treatments including:
- Electrotherapy
The most commonly used electrotherapy treatment, like shortwave, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound.
Ultrasound can be used for reducing inflammation and promoting healing of injured tissue. A small ultrasound head is slowly moved over the area to be treated, using a gel to assist transmission and reduce friction. Ultrasound can assist with treatment for ligament, tendon and muscle issues.
- Soft Tissue Mobilisation
Soft tissue mobilisation can include massage, transverse frictions, trigger point massage, muscle energy techniques and myofascial release. These can improve circulation, assist drainage of lymph and flexibility. Soft tissues treated include muscle, tendon, ligament and fascia. Soft tissue mobilisation can be used to reduce inflammation, ease stiffness, promote healing and restore normal function.
- Exercises
Exercise is an important aspect in physiotherapy treatment. Exercises are prescribed based upon the condition treated to assist as effectively as possible with recovery. As well as recovery, exercise can be useful in long term for prevention of reoccurrence of any problems.
